The beginning of Artprink - A dreams story

A few years ago, I won't talk specifics because I'm bad at remembering dates; I wanted to leave my job in the financial sector. It was what I studied for, and I was good, but this job didn't fill me, and I wanted time to be more present with my daughter, that by then she was younger and she spent all day long at daycare. She was going to start studying, she was no longer old enough for daycare, she didn't know what vacations were because she never had them, and I didn't want any of that for her, and even less for a job that meant nothing to me.

I left work, and I spent a lot of time with her, I enjoyed her a lot, but I knew that I had to do something with my life I'm not a person who likes to be unproductive, both making a lot or a little give me stress. So, I started trying different things I could do from home, that would give me the freedom to generate income while I could take care and be there for my family. I discovered that this was super important to me.

I tried a bunch of stuff, e-commerce, income generation as affiliates, I wrote articles for other people, I had a blog, I created a lot of websites, then, I discovered crowdsourcing, and I started participating in logo design contest.

Crowdsourcing introduced me to the design world; since I was little, I wanted to study design, first, fashion, then interiors, graphic design, and then I was inclined to architecture, but in the end, I studied Economy, so not at all! But I liked it, and that was enough. I had no idea of how everything worked, so I started studying on my own, everything about logo design, I started imitating other designers, and then I started to get loose and create original designs, and I started winning contests! It was the first time that I made a significant amount of money after leaving my job. With time I got bored; it was too much effort and, it didn't guarantee that I would win; I didn't find it a secure way to make money, so I kept exploring.

At this time, I found out Society6, I created a store, and my first ten designs, I posted all of them at once and, I never posted anything more, that didn't work.

I was involved in some projects as a graphic designer, but they also didn't work out. Then I created a recipes blog where the recipes were illustrations done by me rather than photos; It was an incredible project that I loved, but it never generated income.

I kept my search for something that allowed me to make money from home, but without feeling trapped; I wanted the freedom to be with my family and enjoy my free time; that's what I wanted.

Then, the economic and political crisis of my country became insupportable for my family and me, a lot of family members and friends emigrated, and I wanted to do it but, I didn't have the means to. My husband's salary was reaching less and less due to inflation, and I wasn't making money.

I decided to try again with Society6, I created some new designs and, I made my first sale. I started noticing that I made sales if I posted new designs, and if I didn't post, I wouldn't make a sale. So, I decided to make research, and I found helpful content to understand this world.

I was determined to study print on demand as much as I could; I dedicated all of my time and energy to it, I stop everything else to focus on this, trusting that in two years I'll have enough income to emigrate with my family.

I worked on my mindset, believing that it was possible. I started creating designs and posting daily. I looked at what other artists did that were in my ideal position, I searched things in common, deducing how they made it, I even contacted some and were delighted to help me.

I fell in love with this word, I sated feeling like this was for me, that my search was finally done.

I work 10 hours or more every day, including weekends for two years, in the end, I made it! Not only getting plenty of money to emigrate but to generate enough income so I didn't need a new job.

Since then, the growth has been incredible; Companies have contacted me to publish my designs on their websites and to license some of my work to put in their products. I'm happy to have gone through that path that took me where I am, living my dream-live.
